Blog is short for the term weblog. A blog is an online journal wherein you can display your thoughts, ideas, opinions and practically anything that you wish people to read. The basic configuration of a blog is as follows
Title- which allows you to label your post Body- this is the content of your post Trackback- other sites can be linked back to your blog Permanent link- every article that you write has a URL Comments- this allows readers to post comments on your blog.
One of the advantages of blogging is that it is made up of only a few preset templates. Unlike, other websites that is made up of numerous individual pages. This make it easier for blog users to create new pages, because it already has a fix setting that include: slots for title, body of the post, category, etc.This helps newbie bloggers as it makes it a bit like paint by numbers.
Anyone who wants to start a blog can do so by becoming a member of a blogging website of their choice. Once they've become members, they automatically become a part of that particular blogging community. They can browse through other bloggers pages, and link them back to their own blogs. They can also make comments on other members' blogs.
The general idea with blogging is to give your blog a theme eg sports food gardening etc This way people looking for blogs on a subject come to your site and read write comments about your theme ,hence enhancing your blog.
Blogs have made advancements into the education sector with universities documenting student lessons .Many businesses are now blogging as a sales medium as a means to advertise and promote their products. This is growing vastly as it is a very cheap and profitable type of advertising. Even the general public are now making money through blogs, by utilising their blog as an affiliate marketing site.
Bloggers usually communicate within themselves. This is one of the appeals of blogging. It creates a community of people sharing their ideas, thoughts, and comments with each other.
Basically, you set the rules for your blog and express yourself however you wish. So if you would like to give it a try just type in blog sites on your favourite search engine and start a bloggn either on your own blog or comment on another persons. Its up to you.
